Nutrinomist vs Kalix
Kalix is a US practice-management and EHR platform for dietitians, with charting templates, insurance billing and unlimited clients on every plan. Nutrinomist is built for practitioners with clients in many languages: the client portal and chat from €29 a month, 13 client languages, and AI notes from video calls today.
The honest summary
If you chart in ADIME or SOAP, bill insurance or need e-prescribing in the US, Kalix is built for that, and every plan has unlimited clients. If your clients speak different languages and you want a client portal with chat at a lower price, plus AI notes from video calls that work today, Nutrinomist fits better.
Choose Nutrinomist if
- Your clients should see the portal and forms in their own language, in any of 13.
- You want the client portal and chat for less than a full EHR costs.
- You want AI notes from recorded video calls now, and an AI assistant connection.
Choose Kalix if
- You bill US insurance, use superbills or need e-prescribing.
- You chart with ADIME, SOAP or DAP templates and growth charts.
- You want unlimited clients from the first plan, or run webinars for up to 150 people.

Key differences
Clinical charting or client experience
Kalix centres on charting and billing: 200+ templates, growth charts, insurance claims, superbills and e-prescribing. Nutrinomist doesn't do insurance or prescriptions. It concentrates on what clients see: the portal, chat, forms in their language, video calls and payments.
Where the client portal starts
Kalix's client portal and app come with Virtual Practice, at $47 a month, and secure client messaging is on all plans. Nutrinomist includes the client portal and chat from Starter, at €29 a month, with voice messages, and automatic transcripts on Pro.
AI notes today
Kalix lists transcription and summaries for Virtual Plus, at $67 a month, as coming soon. In Nutrinomist a recorded video call already becomes a transcript and an editable journal summary: 3 a month on Starter, and unlimited under fair use on Pro and Team.
How clients are counted
Every Kalix plan has unlimited clients, and group practices pay by appointment hours, which suits a busy clinic. Nutrinomist counts active clients over a rolling 30 days: 5 on Free, 25 on Starter (€29 a month) and unlimited on Pro (€69 a month).
Switching from Kalix
Kalix lets you download a backup of your clients, appointments, documents and messages. Nutrinomist has no automatic import yet, so most practitioners move over gradually:
- Start on the Free plan and set up your personal page and packages.
- Rebuild your intake forms: from Starter, upload a PDF of a form, or describe it, and AI drafts it.
- Invite active clients to the portal as they rebook, each in their own language.
- Keep your Kalix backup for older charts, and connect Google Calendar so bookings don't clash while you use both.
